The Nigerian Festival UK team recently met with the immediate past Mayor of Lambeth (Councillor Pauline George) and presented her with an award for her remarkable work and efforts towards championing the fight against youth violence in the Borough.
Top on the agenda of the visit, was also to discuss their upcoming festival, set to take place on the 17th of June 2023 and plans that would ensure the smooth running of the festival.
The Nigerian Festival is an annual event that celebrates Nigerian culture, people, food, music and more. This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a wide range of activities and entertainment for people of all ages.
During the meeting, the Nigerian Festival team discussed their community engagement plans, highlighting the different activities lined up to achieve their aim.
The team also discussed their plans for ensuring that the festival runs smoothly and safely, with measures in place to adhere to health and safety guidelines amongst many others.
The Mayor of Lambeth accepted the award, full of gratitude and expressed her support for the festival, commending the team for their efforts in promoting Nigerian culture in the local community and the United Kingdom.
